In the second half the offense continued to click for the Mustangs but they struggled to find the last pass or kick to find the back of the net. The break through for the home team happened in the 79th minute when Adrian Sanchez shot a ball after it was knocked out of the box and placed it in the bottom left corner of the net. Although both teams had some decent chances in the last 11 minutes of the half the score was tied at the end of regulation. In NJCAA soccer two 10 minute overtime periods are played. The tie can be broken if a team scores but the result will remain a tie if after both 10 minute periods the teams are still even. Northwest had the wind at their back the first overtime period and tried to get an early overtime win but Taylor Bell and the Mustang defense would not allow it. The second period the Mustangs were more on the attack but once again saw so many chances inches away from being the winning goal. The match ended with a 1 - 1 draw for the teams. The tie has the Mustang record at 7 - 4 - 1 and 3 - 2 - 1 in Region play.
