Trojans Run Past Mustangs

On Friday in Trinidad CO the Western Wyoming Mustangs played the Trojans from Trinidad State Junior College. The Mustangs had a rough start and the Trojans were hitting on all cylinders as they scored in the 2nd, 4th, 7th, and 11th minute.  The Mustangs had put themselves in a big hole but did not give up on the match or their teammates.  The Mustangs pulled a little closer when they scored in the 27th minute.  Tyler Trumble headed in a corner kick sent into the box from Raul Cavazos.  Sadly the Trojans scored shortly afterwards and again in the 37th minute to take a 6 - 1 lead at the halftime break.
The second half was better for the Mustangs but the were down by too many goals.  The seventh goal for the Trojans came in the 64th minute off of a 20 yard free kick.  The Mustangs did put in the final goal in the 78th minute when Zach Plitt sent a diagonal ball into Bernie Manuel who headed the ball past the TSJC keeper.  Unfortunately, the final score was lopsided as the Trojans won 7 - 2.  This loss brings the Mustang record to 7 - 6 - 1 and 3 - 4 - 1 in Region IX play.
