Austin Moffitt a recently graduated senior from Green River High School in Green River Wyoming has joined the men's soccer team at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs WY. Austin is an outside defender who showed throughout his senior season that he was a very tenacious defender. Austin and the GRHS soccer team won the 4A West Regional Tournament after finishing the regular season in second place in the conference. The Wolves were the only 4A West team to win in the first round of the 4A Wyoming State Soccer tournament. GRHS was defeated in the semi-finals of the WY state cup by the eventual champs 2 - 0, Laramie High. Green River and Austin regrouped and won the 3rd place match over the Cheyenne Central Indians and went home with the 2014 3rd Place trophy from the state of Wyoming. Austin was a starter for the Wolves at left back throughout the season. We even saw Austin play at center back when his team needed him too. Austin possesses good speed and discipline in his position and formation. Moffitt and his skills should translate well to the defensive scheme of the Mustangs and should bolster the defense and the defensive depth of WWCC this fall. We wish Austin good luck and a busy summer to get ready to play and contribute to Western soccer as son as he steps onto the campus this August.
