Carroll College Outclasses WWCC in Final Scrimmage

On Friday at a neutral field in Salt Lake at the Westminster College campus the Western Wyoming Mustangs faced against the Carroll College Saints.  This was the first meeting between the NAIA 4 year school from Helena MT and the WWCC Men's soccer team.

The Saints did a great job in the first half of finding the space between the midfield line and the defensive line to cause havic on the Mustangs.  Three goals were scored in the first half by Carroll, their scores happened in the 15th minute, 18th minute and the 21st minute.  The lone goal for the Mustangs in that half was from Jesse Lopez in the 19th minute with an assist to Colby Hendrickson.  The score at the break was 3 to 1 in favor of the Saints from MT.

A Javier Arvayo goal off of a Jesse Lopez assist in the 61st minute brought the scrimmage closer to the Mustangs with a score of 3 to 2.  The Mustangs were able to avoid some of their same mistakes from the first half during the final 45 minutes but were still snake bitten by a quick restart and a quick direct counter attack late in the match which both resulted in Carroll College goals.  After 90 minutes of scrimmage the score was 5 to 2 in favor of the Saints.

Mustang Man of the Match: Jesse Lopez for the goal and assist on the day.
