WWCC Plays Better But Snow Beats Mustangs

On Tuesday in Ephraim UT the 2017 Mustangs played against the Snow College Badgers.  WWCC was looking to avenge a bad loss versus SC earlier in the season.

The start was in favor of the Badgers as they scored in the 5th minute to take an early lead.  Western did play so much better and evened the score in the 15th minute when Javier Arvayo redirected a Jesse Lopez pass into the back of the net.  Western did so much better against the organized quick striking Badgers in the rematch.  The halftime score was tied 1 to 1.

In the second half it was a battle.  In the 53rd minute Snow caught a break when a shot ricocheted off of the cross bar, hit Joe Venhaus in the head and went back into the goal.  The Mustangs just could not muster enough offense to get another score.  Snow added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute to win the match 3 to 1.  The road loss make the Mustang overall record 5 - 6 - 1.

Mustang Man of the Match: Javier Arvayo for the lone goal of the match and stepping into a starting role for the Mustangs.
