2nd Half Goal Helps TSJC Win at Western

On Saturday at Rock Springs High School the Western Wyo Mustangs played host to the Trojans of Trinidad State Junior College.

The Trojans used their athleticism and speed to get on the board first with a goal in the 21st minute.  The Mustangs tied the score up in the 26th minute when Gunner Erickson earned a penalty kick after he was taken down by the Trojan keeper in the box.  Gunner was the player to step up to the spot for WWCC and converted the kick from the spot.  The halftime score was WWCC 1 to TSJC 1.

In the second half the Western team lost a lot of possession and did not seem to have the legs to mount enough offense to score a winning goal.  TSJC scored in the 72nd minute.  The lone goal of the second half was enough to the Trojans to take the victory by a score of 2 to 1 in favor of Trinidad State.  The most recent defeat brings the WWCC record to 0 - 10 - 0.

Mustang Man of the Match: Gunner Erickson for the ability to draw the penalty kick on the day and the calmness to finish from the penalty spot.
