Gianni Galicia Signs for Western Wyo Mustangs

Gianni Galicia from Ogden Utah and soon to be graduate of St. Joseph High has signed his National Letter of Intent to play college soccer for Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs WY.

Currently with his St. Joseph High team is is in the UHSAA 2A Playoffs Quarterfinals.  Gianni has scored 19 goals on the season which makes him the top scorer on his team, the number two scorer in his region and the 10th leading scorer currently for the entire state of Utah.  Best of luck to Gianni and his Jayhawk teammates in the playoffs this year.

Gianni played for Gremio FC for the last four years. He doubled rostered with the Blue Knights from Sandy Utah in 2017 and 2018 seasons.  Galicia won the President's Cup with Gremio FC. In the summer of 2018 Gianni scored the winning goal for Sparta Champion Tournament for Blue Knights.   

He also played in Portland Oregon in the Mount Hood Showcase for Blue Knights,  where they placed second. Gianni played in the Las Vegas International Showcase in February 2018 and we and his team were finalists.  Galicia also played in the RSL Academy Showcase with Gremio FC and was a finalist.

During the winter Gianni played with RSL Academy,  training for 3 months for college scouting. In December of 2018 he played with the Blue Knights in the BYU showcase and took first place. 

Gianni showed well in his tryout on the WWCC campus in January.  his preferred position is an outside back.  Obviously he can also play very well as a forward as his scoring mark this high school year has shown.  We at Western Wyoming are very excited to have Gianni Galicia join us for the upcoming fall and beyond.
